Early Learning Programs
Full time and part time placements are available. A child may be enrolled at any time during the year, depending on space. Although our formal “school time” runs for two and a half hours in the mornings, our children are immersed in a myriad of playful educational activities throughout the entire day. At Northern Dutchess Early Learning Center, we believe that learning is all around us and the opportunities for your child’s growth and development never stop.
Program includes:
Healthful Breakfast and Daily Snack (parents provide lunch), Creative Educational Activities/Projects, Natural Classroom, Vegetable and Flower Garden, Music Program, Certified CPR and First Aid Staff
TODDLERS
(18-36 months)
Our Toddler classroom offers a fun “introductory” program to children ages 18-36 months. Staff help ease the transition from home to school for both the child and the parent. The important early childhood education concept, in this room especially, is that children learn through play. The toddler curriculum fosters learning in this way. Children do not have to be potty trained to enter this classroom. The staff work with the parent to help introduce this to their child when he or she is ready.
PRESCHOOL CLASS
(3 year olds)
Our Preschool classroom (3 year olds) offers a slightly more advanced program than the toddler room with continuing emphasis on pre-reading skills, as well as fine motor, socialization and cognitive skills. Children are taught to problem solve on their own or with the help of their friends and teachers.
PRE-K CLASS
(4-5 year olds)
Our Pre K room (4 - 5 year olds) fosters learning skills which will ready the children for Kindergarten. Weekly themes keep the children interested and motivated to learn through group time, crafts, baking, and singing. We have had wonderful comments from Kindergarten teachers in local school districts noting the great socialization and learning skills demonstrated by the children who have completed our program!
